Safer Roads Save Lives
ATSSA Members Host Members of Congress
During the past year, ATSSA members hosted 14 members of Congress at their
offices and facilities. Members of Congress toured sites in N.C., Ill., Ohio, Pa.,
Colo., Mont., Ark., Wash., Ind. and Ala. Within these states, the following ATSSA
member companies brought the roadway safety message home for their elected
officials: Pexco, Time Striping, MRL Equipment, Checkers Industrial, Avery
Dennison, Gregory Industries, Arkema Inc., 3M, DBI Services, Beth’s Barricades,
Indiana Sign and Barricade, Maintenance Coatings and Marking Specialists.
Congressional site visits, such as these, help to develop long-lasting
relationships for businesses and federal elected officials.
ATSSA offers a dynamic and diverse selection of high-quality education,
training, professional certifications, products and publications for the
road safety industry.
Through ATSSA’s Road Safety Training,
32,918 people were trained and 19,575 people
were certified in 2014.
Operation and Application of Truck-Mounted
Attenuators (TMAs) is ATSSA’s newest course
offering.
Gregory Industries hosted the pilot of ATSSA’s
new TMA course.
ATSSA’s Training Department has launched
California, Maryland and North Carolina-specific
versions of the Online Flagger Certification
Training Course in addition to its national course.
ATSSA’s Pavement Marking Technician
course was updated.
More than 30 free grant products, training
modules and podcasts were available.

ATSSA PAC
ATSSA’s Political Action Committee (ATSSA PAC)
continued to support congressional candidates who
are leaders on transportation and roadway safety
issues. The past year was successful for ensuring
these members of Congress returned to Washington,
D.C. ATSSA PAC contributed to these candidates’
campaigns in an effort to support roadway safety
champions in Congress as they fight for
transportation policies and funding. Throughout
2014, ATSSA PAC attended 31 fundraisers, and the
reelection success rate was 92 percent. The highway
bill will be set to be reauthorized this year, and
ATSSA PAC’s role will be more vital than ever.
