Following the trail through
the Mt Hood Meadows
ski area we were treated
to an amazing display of
wildflowers. The final mile
or so to Timberline Lodge
combines with the Pacific
Crest Trail. The surface is
mostly a mix of glacial till
and pumice, making for
a slow approach to the
lodge. The conclusion of
the trail, at least for this
adventurer, not surpris-
ingly ended in the tap
room at the lodge. A nice
bonus to a back country
hike while we waited for
our ride back to Portland.
