Scholarship Thank You Letters
Dear Professional Land Surveyors
of Oregon,
I am writing to express my appreci-
ation for your contribution toward
my education. I was excited to find
out I have been selected to be a
recipient of your donation. It is
truly an honor.
I am 19 years old and have recently
graduated from Geneva Academy,
a private classical Christian school in Roseburg,
Oregon. My school teaches rigorous, high-level
course work. I have dyslexia, so reading and writing
has always been a struggle for me. After several
years of struggling through specialized curriculum, I
enrolled in Geneva which challenged me even more.
It has taught me to persevere through struggles.
My family is a rather large one. I have four brothers
and two sisters and I land right in the middle. I
chose to attend UCC because it is close to home
and it is a good education for a fair price. I have
decided to pursue a degree in civil engineering with
an emphasis on surveying. I will be graduating from
UCC with an AAOT degree in 2018. After that, I will
be transferring to a four year university to pursue a
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. I have not yet
decided which college I will be transferring to. In the
meantime, I will be seeking an internship in surveying
through one of the local logging companies.
Thank you for our generous contribution towards my
education. It will fill the gap left by tuition, fees and
books. I will be able to focus better on my education
and less on work. I am honored to receive this
scholarship and it will be put to good use.
Thank you, again.

Dear Professional Land Surveyors
of Oregon,
Thank you very much for your
overwhelming generosity in
awarding me a scholarship. Your
support is instrumental in allowing
me to get the education I need to
become a licensed land surveyor.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my
classes so far at Clark College,
as well as my current internship with the City of
Vancouver, WA, and I’m beyond excited to continue
my studies at Oregon Tech this fall! Every day in class
and on the job confirms that surveying is the perfect
mix of problem-solving and hands-on application,
and such a generous scholarship inspires me to work
harder and dream bigger about my future in the
profession.
Once again, thank you for helping to make my plans
a reality. Your support of young surveyors like me
means so much.
Sincerely,
Katherine Singleton
