“I understand that our transportation is failing the

Bay Area and that we need radical and immediate

change. It is an honor to join the Transportation

and Infrastructure Committee. As the former

chairman of the California State Senate

Transportation and Housing Committee, I look

forward to continuing to fight for needed

investments in our infrastructure systems to

improve safety, reduce congestion, and create

millions of good-paying jobs. The Transportation

Committee is expected to have a full agenda in the

new Congress, including a robust infrastructure

bill and addressing aviation and surface

transportation needs. I am excited to get right to

work on these and other innovative solutions

that will help strengthen our economy, make us

more competitive, and ensure transparency

and accountability in state and local

infrastructure projects.”

ATSSA’s Legislative Briefing Fly-In

Join ATSSA in Washington, D.C. for its Legislative Briefing Fly-In on

May 3–4. This conference is a unique opportunity for ATSSA members to

meet high-level decision makers from Congress, as well as network with

fellow industry leaders.

ATSSA members will speak with members of Congress about their decision

to provide critical roadway safety infrastructure funds, which would increase

opportunities for companies in the transportation infrastructure industry and

help reduce fatalities and serious injuries on roadways.

This program is designed to provide ATSSA members with the information

and confidence to present key industry issues directly to members of

Congress. An experienced ATSSA member or an ATSSA staff person will

work with attendees to help them:

Meet with members of Congress and congressional staff

Convey the importance of road safety and infrastructure

improvements

Articulate contributions your company can make in reducing

fatalities

Develop long-lasting relationships with legislators

Advance our industry’s mission of Toward Zero Deaths
