53% OF RESIDENTIAL CARE RESIDENTS AND

64% OF ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENTS HAVE A

LENGTH OF STAY LONGER THAN ONE YEAR.*

This has resulted in a steady decline in the length of stay in Oregon skilled

nursing facilities over the past decade, even though the total annual

admissions have increased year-over-year. In 2015, the median length of

stay in Oregon was 23 days.

15

Lengths of stay in community-based care are longer. In assisted living,

over 64% of residents stay longer than 1 year.

16

In residential care, 49%

stayed longer than a year while 58% of memory care residents stayed

longer than a year.
