PROFILE

see more care planning and assessments

being done electronically. The issue can

now be taken care of off-site rather than

going to the facility. Which is great but I

just hope we won't lose that human touch

while caring for those who are hurting.

How can long term care providers

lead the way in the provision of

quality care?

Patients have become more

knowledgeable about health care thus

increasing their demand for quality. So

providers have to actively be committed

in seeing that they are providing care

that is consistent with the residents'

safety and satisfaction. The residents

of today and the future are of the baby

boomer generation. They know what they

want. Therefore, they are ready to shop

around for the best care suitable to their

needs. So, long term care providers have

to also take on that mindset.
