Oregon’s Willamette National Forest was the chosen destination and provided an 80 foot, 35-year-old noble fir for this year’s Capitol Christmas Tree! Central Oregon Trucking shipped the tree along the Oregon Trail and stopped in local towns along the way, including Salem, the state’s capitol location. Not only is it the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Systems Act, but it’s also the 175th anniversary of the Oregon Trail. This is the second time Oregon was picked to provide a tree since 1964 (the first was from Umpqua National Forest in 2002), and we’re excited that the east coast can enjoy some of our state’s natural beauty!
