A Message from the Chairman
Dear MABC Members,
I would like to thank each member for allowing me the privilege to serve as your
2015 MABC Chairman. The members of this association represent the best that
the construction industry has to offer. By being a part of this association, one
is surrounded by a wealth of knowledge. I have found that as you get to know
other members, each of them has encountered similar challenges that we all
face. These same members are also quick to share with you how they overcame
these challenges.
If you are moving into a new market and are unfamiliar with the contractors,
subcontractors and material suppliers, your membership in MABC helps you find
quality contacts. Business is about trusting relationships. MABC helps you get to
know your fellow members on both a personal and professional level. I believe
the better we know each other, the better we work together.
MABC is here to serve its members and be the leading voice in the construction
industry. Your chapter worked hard to establish a lien law for the State of
Mississippi and put on multiple seminars to help educate our members on
how to implement the law into their business. MABC continues to monitor
what is going on in our State legislature and advocates our industry’s position
effectively.
MABC‘s committees are working hard on behalf of our membership. The
membership committee is looking for an 88% retention rate and 900 total
members by 2016. Our education committee is providing seminars across the
State and they are investigating the possibility of being able to provide seminars
as webinars. The Safety Committee will be conducting a Safety Boot Camp. Our
Government Affairs Committee will work to educate our membership on current
legislative issues and continue to raise money for the Political Action Committee
(PAC). MABC will also continue to work with MCEF to help us prepare for the
upcoming workforce needs.
I want to thank the Executive Committee, Board Members, Committee Chairs
and MABC staff for all the hard work they do to make this organization
successful. I would also like to thank all the members for their continued
support of our association. Every decision made by MABC leadership is based
on ensuring these decisions are good for our membership.
I ask each of you to take advantage of your membership with MABC. MABC
has such a strong intrinsic value that a price cannot be attached to it. Become
involved with your Association and help us better serve you.
Thank you for your continued support and I thank you for allowing me the
