In 2015, the name was changed to HealthImpact to reflect an additional mission to improve health and wellbeing of Californians through innovation, interprofessional leadership, and nursing excellence. HealthImpact contributes to professional nursing, the nursing workforce, and health by directing nursing workforce efforts as strategists; serving as nursing futurists; advancing health, wellbeing, and nursing education as policy makers; and leading diverse groups to consensus and action by being neutral conveners and arbiters. One of our initiatives was the 2018 Regional Nursing Summits. The Regional Nursing Summits served as a collaborative process to bring together stakeholders from academia, policy organiza- tions, healthcare providers, labor groups, and government to Summit participants learned from each other, developed new ideas, and strengthened the professional nursing communities’ commitment to working together to find new approaches to old problems. identify opportunities for change related to challenges faced in preparing nurses for a rapidly changing practice environment. In coming together, Summit participants learned from each other, developed new ideas, and strengthened the professional nursing communities’ commitment to working together to find new approaches to old problems. Priorities for action were identified that will further progress toward the shared goal of a well- prepared nursing workforce. ANA\C played an important role as being one of they key policy organizations to plan the Regional Nursing Summits. Due to its continued importance as a statewide nursing organization, ANA\C has been invited to sit on the Steering Committee as we enter into the design and implementation phase to address the issues articulated in the Regional Nursing Summits. The Steer- ing Committee will provide organizational oversight to ensure the work is integrated with regional and statewide activities to move the Summit report priorities forward.
