Summer 2018

Teaching with i-Tree PRODUCED IN COLLABORATION with the U.S. Forest Service, PLT’s new Teaching with i-Tree unit contains three hands-on activities designed to help middle and high school students discover and analyze the many ecosystem services that trees provide. The lessons accompany i-Tree Design—a suite of free online tools developed by USFS and its partners—that allows students to calculate the dollar value of the benefits provided by a tree or a set of trees. Teaching with i-Tree will be released this month and can be downloaded for free from PLT.org . The activities can be used in formal classroom settings or with informal groups, such as scouts and students enrolled in after-school programs.  I N D U S T R Y N E W S www.wvfa.org Summer 2018 |  West Virginia Forestry Association Mountain State Forestry 19
