It meant so much to me when he attended my Mastership ceremony in Las Vegas. To say that he and Joey have motivated me to become a better dentist is a gross understatement.” Q dentistry is ues Few people were as synonymous with AGD and PAGD as Dr. Rick Knowlton. He was committed to continually striving to practice at a higher level and took pride in his colleagues that did the same. Rick received his doctorate from Temple University in 1983. In 1991, he earned his Fellowship from AGD and his Mastership in 1998. He was also inducted into the American College of Dentists in 2013. Apart from excelling in his practice, he was a passionate practitioner of sports dentistry, and was the 2016 Olympic Team Dentist for the USA Field Hockey Team. Rick passed away on March 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. He will be missed by his friends and colleagues, but his legacy of inspiring the pursuit of better dentistry will continue to live on. May we live so well. Below are some thoughts and memories from his colleagues: When John Reckner and I received our Mastership in New Orleans, Rick was on stage because of his role in continuing education. I am extremely emotional writing this as I remember walking across the stage and Rick standing up and walking over to hug the two of us as we received our awards. He was so happy that day. I love him. He has changed so many of our lives . – R. Todd Weaver, DMD, MAGD Rick always had a kind word and affirmation for me as I worked through PEAK and then while I was on the board and in leadership of the PAGD. Truly a great role model for all of us in his involvement and leadership in general den- tistry both with PAGD and AGD national. He will be missed. – Frederick Lally, DMD, MAGD InMemoriam… Dr. Rick Knowlton
