Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. 24 Oregon Truck Dispatch OTA News NEWS Recent Departures Will Bring New Beginnings As most of our members are aware by now, Joe Darby, previous Director of Safety & Compliance has decided to take another position with Aon Risk Solutions, an active OTA member. Joe had been an asset to our association, and we wish him the best in his new endeavor. That being said, OTA would like to welcome Adam Williamson, our new Director of Training & Development. Adam has an extensive background in training and will be working with John Sallak over the next few months to build education programs that provide enhanced value for our members. OTA Attends Glostone’s Trucking Regulatory Update Conference OTA was invited to host a booth at Glostone’s annual event at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas, OR. ELD’s, Drug Testing, and Distracted Driving were among the hot topics this year. OTA is always happy to participate in member events. Do you have something coming up? Impact Solutions Training Opportunities Trainer and Founder of Impact Solutions, Kelly Anderson, is known to many OTA members for his Management Coaching Program. The one-year course teaches administrative and interpersonal skills that managers need in current positions as well as leadership qualities they’ll need for the future. It includes large and small group sessions and projects on topics like “Top 10 Mistakes Every Manager Makes.” The class started January 10, but registration is still open (a make-up for the first class is available). Kelly has now added professional courses geared toward trucking folks assigned to recruitment and retention roles. The Full Master Recruiting Techniques course will take place Portland April 23–25, and the Advanced session will the last two days of the full course April 24–25.
