Women in Lodging Promoting Women in Hospitality Through Mentorship CH&LA, in ConJunCTion WiTH THe AMeRiCAn HoTeL & LodGinG ASSoCiATion, fuels the Women in Lodging (WIL) mission to promote women's leadership into executive positions within the lodging industry and to contribute to business development efforts. CH&LA has an active WIL chapter that hosts a few educational and/or networking events throughout the state annually. On November 18 at the US Grant in San Diego, CH&LA held a Women in Lodging (WIL) panel discussion that examined the ways in which women in the hotel industry have professionally encouraged one another through formal and informal mentorship programs. The session, sponsored by Michelman & Robinson and moderated by attorney Lara Shortz, reviewed best practices for developing and implementing such a program, and explored why there is still a need for programs of this nature. rona Kay with disney’s Grand California Hotel, Terri Haack with the Terranea Resort and Pat Seminario with Marriott Hotels & Resorts participated on the panel. Panelists shared their personal experiences and discussed how providing a system for women to rise to the top through education and support, can remove obstacles to success that would otherwise keep them from attaining a high level of performance.  Join This first industry-wide forum exclusively for female hospitality professionals is your opportunity to connect with top professionals nationwide and gain career momentum.
