The Signal | May/June 2019 25 The Foundation Moving Toward Zero Deaths with 3M’s Virtual Pledge Wall More than $15,000 raised to support the loved ones of roadway workers 3M’s Toward Zero Deaths Pledge Wall went virtual this year, raising more than $15,000 for the work the American Traf- fic Safety Services Foundation (ATSS Foundation) does to support the loved ones of those impacted by work zone crashes. The 3Mpledge wall was on site at ATSSA’s 49th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in Tampa, Florida, wheremembers could stop by and pledge their support to The Foundation or donate online, making it easier than ever for ATSSA members to donate. In addition to pledges, 3M matched up to $5,000 of the total donated. “3M was once again honored to partner with The Foundation to sponsor the Vir- tual Pledge Wall in support of roadway workers and their loved ones,” said 3M’s Global Communications Strategist Heath- er Swanson. “We are happy to work with The Foundation to help keep its many programs thriving and it is always great to see the generosity of our fellow road- way safety infrastructure members.” The funds raised will be used for The Foundation’s programs throughout the year, including the Roadway Worker Me- morial Scholarship and the Experience Camps Travel Scholarship. The Foundation President David Kra- hulec of Horizon Signal Technologies, Inc., spoke to the importance of the vir- tual pledge wall in supporting the non- profit’s mission to help the loved ones of those killed or permanently disabled in work zone incidents. “The Foundation is honored to continue its partnership with 3M which raises thousands of dollars every year in sup- port of roadway workers and their fam- ilies,” said Krahulec. “This is an import- ant effort that not only highlights the importance of roadway safety but also allows The Foundation to support chil- dren, spouses, and loved ones of a road- way worker who has been injured or killed as a result of a work zone incident. We’re all in this together, and every step to reach zero deaths on our nation’s roadways is monumental. Thank you again to all those who donated.”  To donate or learn more about The Foundation, visit Foundation.atssa.com. 3M’s Toward Zero Deaths Pledge Wall was on site at ATSSA’s 49th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo, raising more than $15,000 for The Foundation.
