American Traffic Safety Services Association 42 Chapter News Texas Chapter The ATSSA Texas Chapter held a meeting and annual golf day at the Falconhead Golf Club in Austin, Texas on Nov. 13, 2018. Even with the unexpected, brutally cold weather, there were 54 people in attendance. Cory West, chapter president, announced that new directors and officers would be installed for the chapter board at the Jan. 22, 2019 chapter meeting. A state advocacy day has also been planned for Jan. 23, 2019 and all members are encour- aged to attend. This complimentary event is a unique oppor- tunity for members to amplify the chapter’s voice at the state capitol by educating state lawmakers on the importance of the roadway safety infrastructure industry and advocating for the inclusion of contractor maintenance vehicles in the state’s slow down and move over law. The chapter would like to thank its sponsors and golfers for their participation. Proceeds from the golf day will be utilized to fund activities that enhance the chapter’s core purpose of advancing roadway safety. Wisconsin Chapter The Wisconsin Chapter of ATSSA met Dec. 13, with nine mem- ber companies and three public agencies. The Wisconsin County Highway Association, led by Craig Hardy, shared ex- amples of several public platform initiatives the association is working on to aid and enhance working conditions for chapter members. The representative from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT), Erin Schoon, talked about National Work Zone Awareness Week, providedWDOT’s findings from this past year’s 2018 Work Zone Inspections, and updates on county work zones, TC2 updates, and work zone crashes. The chapter leadership shared the election results for the new President-Elect Lance Mauel. Members of the Texas ATSSA chapter held a golf outing and chapter meeting at the Falconhead Golf Club in Austin Texas. Congratulations to the first place team - Lou Delligatti, Shane Howell, Scott Hughes, and TJ Short. Cole Benton won the Longest Drive. Nathan Aust was the winner of Closest to the Pin.
