American Traffic Safety Services Association 40 Member Services ATSSA hires Necoya Tyson as new Director of Meetings & Conventions Necoya Tyson recently joined ATSSA as the new Director of Meetings & Con- ventions. Tyson hit the ground running her first day with ATSSA on a site visit in Tampa, Florida, for the upcoming 49th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo. Tyson has a Bachelor’s degree from Shaw University in Mass Communica- tions and a minor in Public Administra- tion. She also holds a Certificate in Ex- hibition Management (CEM) and is a Certified Government Meeting Profes- sional (CGMP). Prior to joining ATSSA, Tyson worked for five years as the director of operations and conferences for National Trade Pro- ductions, a trade show management company, and as the meeting and ex- hibits manager for the Society of Amer- ican Military Engineers. Tyson considers being the first in her family to graduate from college and raising her son to be her top personal achievements. She is excited about how the roadway safety infrastructure industry is con- stantly adapting and growing and ex- pressed excitement about learningmore in the coming months. Tyson ismost excited about getting ATSSA ready for the upcoming 49th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo, as well as par- ticipating in ATSSA’s 50th anniversary. “I’m looking forward to getting to know our members and running a successful convention,” Tyson said.
