26th Annual Golf

Classic Tournament

The 26th Annual Golf Classic Tournament at Whirlwind Golf Club was held

during ATSSA’s 47th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo, Feb. 10. The

Foundation would like to thank the players, sponsors, donors, and volunteers

for supporting the Annual Golf Classic Tournament, which was sold out for

the fifth consecutive year. The golf tournament and the Sporting Clays Event

represent the largest fundraisers of the year that support The Foundation’s

programs. Because of these fundraisers, The Foundation is able to provide

Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarships to spouses and dependents of

workers who are killed or permanently disabled in roadway work zone

accidents. The hard work and generosity of these individuals helps to

maintain the National Work Zone Memorial, which honors more than

1,400 names of those who have been killed in roadway work zone accidents.

The Foundation joined Experience Camps to provide children of fallen

roadway workers a summer camp for children who are coping with a loss

of a parent. The one-week Experience Camps are places for kids to laugh,

cry, play, create, and make friends with other children coping with

similar challenges.
