We also wish to express our gratitude to BrewCo for providing refreshment to our parched participants.  Stihl Chainsaw Presented Tom McLaughlin writes for WVFA: “Larry (David) Bostic, West Virginia Logger of the Year, receiving a Stihl chainsaw from Bryan Equipment’s Dan Marsh [at the Annual Conference]. Larry has monthly safety meetings and is active in his church and with Log-a-load for kids. He uses a three man crew and does most of the cutting himself for Weyerhaeuser Timberlands. They produce 25 MBF/week and 250 Tons of pulp wood. He has been logging for 30 years and in business for 11 years.”  Awards 2017 WVFA Logger of the Year Wins 2018 Regional Logger of the Year J & L Trucking LLC (Jimmy and Lucille Pennington) of Durbin, WV has been selected as the Forest Resources Association (FRA) 2018 Appalachian Region Outstanding Logger. They will be honored on October 11 at the FRA fall meeting in Lexington, KY. This is the third time in four years that a West Virginia logger has won this honor. We have excellent loggers in WV!  WV State Fair By the time you read this, you no doubt would have visited the WVFA exhibit at the State Fair in Lewisburg, Aug. 9–18. We hope that you enjoyed seeing one of our volunteers who “maned” the display and were impressed by the quality of the exhibit; an effort led by Dan Abston of Weyerhaeuser and our Communications Committee toward branding our logo, themes, and slogans. 
