The setting and circumstances of each case is concisely outlined, with historical illustrations in many instances, and the relevant principles are set forth for expe- dient review. Readers can then elect to expand the scope of their educational ex- perience, on any given topic, by using the legal citations which are provided, to ob- tain the full text of any given case that one might desire to learn more about. Mem- bers of the newest generation of Oregon surveyors are especially encouraged to explore this historically valuable materi- al, in order to develop an appreciation of how the law, as we know it today, came into existence and evolved in the Beaver State, and in order to recognize the kinds of issues which populate the broad land rights spectrum.
