17 Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon | www.plso.org OrYSN Corner New OrYSN Chair: Tim Brown T he OrYSN is pleased to welcome its 2019 Chair, Tim Brown! Tim has been an active member for the past three years and started his land surveying journey in the summer of 2007 cutting line for KLS Surveying in his hometown of Vernonia, OR. In 2010, he moved to Klamath Falls to pursue dual B.S. degrees in Geomatics and GIS at the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT). Tim continued to work summers for KLS Surveying during college until 2013, when he ventured to Kodiak, Alaska to work for St. Denny Surveying (and did a lot of fishing!). In the summer of 2014 he interned with Mackay Sposito in Van- couver, WA performing GIS duties. After graduation in 2015, he accepted a full time job at HHPR in Portland, OR and is still enjoying employment there. Throughout his time at OIT he received four separate scholarships from the PLSO. He attended the inaugural NSPS Young Surveyors meetup in San Diego and has already passed his Oregon LS exam, ex- pecting to get his license this summer. In his free time, Tim likes making things of all shapes and sizes from woodwork- ing to roasting coffee (he owns his own coffee roaster). He appreciates learning how to do something and then actually doing it. Tim is passionate about the geo- spatial industry. He is excited about the ORYSN and is looking forward to serving as Chair this year. We would like to thank Chris Glantz, our 2018 Chair, for all of his hard work last year. Not only did he lead our group, but he also was the President of the NSPS Young Surveyors Network and was voted as the 2018 PLSO Surveyor of the Year! Thank you Chris for growing the OrYSN and good luck to Tim in 2019!  x
