OAN Awards Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon | www.plso.org 9 Nominations Submitted to Awards Committee Chair PLSO Surveyor of the Year Award The following are minimum requirements that must be met to qualify: 1. Be a Corporate Member of PLSO for five (5) or more years 2. Have a demonstrated history of high competence, integrity, and professionalism. 3. Assisted qualified and interested people in advancement within the profession. 4. Career long service to the profession. Nomination must be presented to the Board at least two months prior to the annual meeting. Only written nominations will be considered. The nomination shall be supported by 5 PLSO members in good standing. Accompanying the nomination shall be a brief biography, resume, photo suitable for publishing, and the reasons the nominators are making the nomination. Life Member The following are minimum requirements that must be met to qualify: 1. Career long service to the profession and PLSO. 2. Served as a Chapter Officer or on a PLSO Committee. 3. Is currently and has been a Corporate Member of PLSO for ten (10) years prior to nomination. 4. Approval vote by two-thirds (2/3) of the Board of Directors by secret ballot. Life membership status shall be granted only in recognition of distinguished service to this Corporation and to the profession. Nominations for Life Membership by an individual or group shall be presented to the Board and include a record and biographical sketch in writing. Article of the Year An award given to the author of the best article that has been published in the Oregon Surveyor within the last year. Nominations Submitted to Chapter President and Awards Committee Chair Outstanding Associate or Special Member Award To give recognition to an Associate or Special member of PLSO who has done exemplary work and demonstrating profession- alism during the year. Good Humor Award Presented to the person who has brought humor to the work place and PLSO. Brush Cutter Award One who just keeps going and going and going, never letting the stuff ahead of them stop their pursuance on obtaining the results for PLSO and the profession. Team Player Award One who demonstrates how cooperation and team work really works wonders. Bright Idea Award One that keeps coming up with innovative ideas to get things done. Contagious Attitude Award One who, through their own attitude, helps others be motivated to do their best. Diversity Award One who makes a true effort to promote a respectful and accepting work environment. Hidden Talent Award One who has talent (real or imagined) which is noteworthy among our peers. Community Service Award One who works to help make our community better for us all. This award can be given to a chapter for a community service project they may have worked on.
