Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon | www.plso.org 5 From the PLSO Chairman is as simple as the push of a button. So simple in fact that anyone can do it and they know it. Turning back technology is like turning back the tide, it’s not going to happen. How do we then stay relevant in a changing world? Although our profes- sion is made up of many, many different facets and details, boundaries may be the only niche we truly have that is unassail- able by technology, at least for the time being, and the foreseeable future. Sur- veyors don’t seem to fully comprehend the laws of supply and demand when it comes to dwindling numbers and in- creased demands. Without increasing wages how will we attract new people to the profession? These are all consid- erations when building a strategic plan for our professional association. Your Board of Directors will be busy this Sat- urday and will have a lot to report in the next few chapter meetings. In other news, I’m researching a new project in Southwest Oregon for the next issue of the Lost Surveyor. This might be a fun opportunity for some adventure- some PLSO members to rewrite a piece of Oregon history and statistics. Are you up for the challenge? Stay tuned... Don’t forget that the Oregon Surveyor is always looking for articles and materials. Do you have a story to tell? Every survey- or does, so try your hand at putting it on paper and sharing with your peers. Who knows, a chicken story might win you ar- ticle of the year!  x
