OHCA Spring/Summer 2019

www.ohca.com SPRING/SUMMER 2019 The Oregon Caregiver 13 QUALITY metrics reporting system and timeframe will support providers in meeting these resident-centric requirements. Quality Measurement Requirements The resident satisfaction surveys con- ducted for the Oregon quality measure- ment program must be administered by a third-party entity. The Quality Metrics Council has approved the Core Q assisted living satisfaction questions for the resident satisfaction measure. Core Q is a set of customer satisfaction questions that support consistent measurement across settings and was designed to be added to existing survey instruments or used alone to collect resident feedback. The Core Q questions include: • In recommending this facility to your friends and family, how would you rate it overall? • Overall, how would you rate the staff? • How would you rate the care you receive? • Overall, how would you rate the food? The Core Q questionnaire has been rigorously evaluated and was further validated by the National Quality Forum, which approved the assisted living Core Q questionnaire, making it the first nationally accredited resident satisfac- tion tool for use in assisted living and residential care settings. The CoreQ questions also align with the customer satisfaction measure in the AHCA/ NCAL Trend Tracker platform for assisted living communities. Thanks to the addition of these resident satisfaction survey reporting, compli- ance information coupled with the resident experiences and key outcome measures will offer providers and consumers a more complete picture of the quality in communities and will illustrate areas of resident satisfaction and opportunities for improvement.
