OHCA 2018 Report

2018 Oregon Long Term Care State Report www.ohca.com 1 Long Term Care 101 For over three decades, Oregon has been a pioneer in providing long term care services and supports. Our long term care service providers deliver thoughtful, person-centered care to older Oregonians and people living with disabilities around the state. Long term care is the continuum of services and supports, including health care, social services, and housing, provided to individuals living with age related, chronic conditions, or disabilities that affect the ability to perform activities of daily life. In Oregon, these services are provided through a wide variety of care settings that allow Oregonians to maintain their dignity, independence, and autonomy within safe environments. These settings include in-home care; independent living; home and community-based care communities like assisted living, residential care, and memory care; and skilled nursing facilities.
