OREGON’S HOSPITALS STAND OUT Adventist Health was named among the top 2 percent in the nation for qual- ity of critical care services and spine surgery by Healthgrades. Adventist Health Portland has been certified as a Gold Well Workplace by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). Adventist Medical Center was found to have one of the lowest emergency room wait times in Oregon by indepen- dent nonprofit newsroom ProPublica. Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics for the fourth year in a row. Asante was named one of the nation’s 15 top U.S. health systems by Truven Health Analytics for the fifth consecu- tive year. Asante ’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program was certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Bay Area Hospital held a community- wide ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Total Joint Destination Center. Blue Mountain Hospital implemented the 340B prescription drug program within their hospital. CHI Mercy Health opened the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Therapy. Columbia Memorial Hospital CEO Erik Thorsen was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of “CEOs to Know.” Good Shepherd Health Care System partnered with its clinical and technol- ogy partner, Carena, to open a new virtual clinic that provides 24/7 access to healthcare with support fromOAHHS’ RHRI program. Good Shephe r d Hea l t h Ca r e System welcomed Daniel G. Canal, MD, pediatrician. Grande Ronde Hospital has been hon- ored as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for Overall Performance by the National Rural Health Association and as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics. Samaritan Health Services was recently ranked among the nation’s top-per forming health systems by Truven Health. Kaiser Permanente’s Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers earned the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. Ka i ser Permanente Sunnys ide Medical Center was named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades. Kaiser Permanente announced Nancy Louie Lee as new vice president for quality and service. Legacy Meridian Park and Dr. Chris Nanson were the first in Oregon to perform a robotic total knee replace- ment surgery. Legacy Health celebrated the ground- breaking for a new $210 million project that will add space and technologi- cal upgrades to the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center campus. Legacy Health ’s hospitals were recog- nized for LGBTQ care equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Mercy Medical Center was recently named one of the 2017 Top 20 Rural Community Hospitals in the nation, according to the National Rural Health Association. OHSU’ s Zach Harris, M.B.A., F.A.C.H.E., and Andrew Watson, Ph.D., C.L.P., have been named to the Portland Business Journal’s 2017 “Forty under 40” class. OHSU welcomed Mark B. Williams as the chief strategy officer for the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Providence Health & Services hospi- tals in Oregon and Providence’s Center for Medically Fragile Children were rec- ognized by the Oregon Patient Safety Commission for meeting an assortment of patient safety targets. Providence St. Vincent Medical Center has been recognized for efforts to encourage breast feeding by earn- ing the Baby-Friendly designation from the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund, or UNICEF. Providence Medford Medical Center welcomed New Chief Nursing Officer Maria Calloway, RN, MBA, DNP NE-BC. Providence Medford Medical Center was recognized as Southern Oregon’s most up-to-date evidence-based stroke treatment facility by the American Heart Association. Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Baker City was listed by Becker’s Hospital Review as a ‘Top 100 Critical Access Hospital.’ Salem Health was awarded Best Hospital, Best Place to Have a Baby, and Best Surgery Center in the Statesman Journal’s 2017 Best of the Mid-Valley People’s Choice Awards. SalemHealth announced John Lattimer has accepted an appointment to the Salem Health Board of Trustees. Salem Health ’s Foundation welcomed Mike Hanslits, MD, and Alex Rhoten to its board of directors. Samaritan Neuropsychology Albany welcomed Audrina Mullane, PhD, clini- cal neuropsychologist.
