22 New Mexico Dental Journal, Summer 2020 Dear Friends, I recently read this quote: “While we may not have pre- pared for this pivot, the hypothetical band-aid has been ripped off and we are all forced, together, to reimagine what our new normal can look like.” Every day, we see stories about the depth of the human spirit, the generosity of our neighbors, and the communal care that truly makes us all New Mexicans. I am in awe over the strength that we can collectively bring to solve community problems in the best of times. And now, we are meeting our new challenges with courage, honesty, and open minds and hearts.
