For half a century, ATSSA has dedi- cated itself to improving roadway safety by working with its members to stay ahead of industry trends and address critical issues. One of the chief ways it does this is by hostingevents throughout theyear. ATSSA members convene todiscuss innovations related to traffic control devices, advo- cacy efforts on Capitol Hill, and ways to raise awareness about the importance of roadway safety as well as the main- tenance and funding of roadside infra- structure. In 2020, the Association will host four major events and one “How To” conference. “The year aheadwill be a trulymonumen- tal time for ATSSA and its members as we celebrate 50 years in the roadway safety infrastructure industry,” said PPP Inc. CEOGreg Driskell, who will help lead the Association as board chair from 2020–2021. “Having served on various ATSSA committees and task forces in different roles, it has been remarkable to watch participation and attendance of our Association’s events increase over the years.” In his role as chair, Driskell said it will be “imperative” to continue to encourage activemembership and that attendance at ATSSA events plays a critical role. “The more minds we bring to the table, the more knowledge and information we will have at our fingertips,” he said. “It is my hope to see all of our members make an effort to increase their partic- ipation in 2020.” ATSSAVice President ofMember Services Donna Clark said the Association’s goal is to provide opportunities formembers to engage in all sectors of the industry— whether it is stayingupdatedon the latest technological advancements and prod- ucts, being informed of current national guidelines and standards for safety hard- ware and traffic control devices, or assert- ing their voice on relevant legislation. “As the leader in the roadway safety infrastructure industry, ATSSA ensures its members have access to pools of information, resources and points of influence to help keep individuals safe on our nation’s roadways,” Clark said. “ATSSA’s staff and board members are dedicated to organizing and planning these annual events to not only provide a unified voice for the industry but also to help educate the public about the importance of roadway safety.” What’s In Store For 2020? ATSSA kicks off the newyear with its 50th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in New Orleans from January 24–28 . The largest roadway safety infrastructure The 48th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo was held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio in 2018 and broke records for attendance and the number of booths sold. The annual event brings together business leaders, government officials, manufacturers and corporate roadway personnel from around the world.
