12 West Virginia Forestry Association Mountain State Forestry | Winter 2021–22 www.wvfa.org Legislative Reception Brings Together Business Leaders and Legislators OVER 40 ENTHUSIASTIC BUSINESS LEADERS ATTENDED THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION in Charleston to meet with dozens of Legislators. The evening had some drama as earlier in the day, when both House and Senate decided to start their respective interim sessions as 6 pm, about the time scheduled for the reception. However, the House of Delegates quickly finished their business and over two dozen House of Delegates members made the time to meet and discuss the needs of the state’s forest products businesses. Eventually, as the Senate finished much later, Senators attended to close out the evening. We were especially pleased to visit with our longtime supporters and those serving their first term, a great time to build relationships with these new members. The legislators attending were from all parties and represented the diversity of people within West Virginia. We must thank our sponsors who really helped us make this happen.
