AND THE WINNERS WERE… The annual Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) Volunteer Recognition meeting and dinner traditionally takes place the Monday evening before Thanksgiving at the New York Marriott Marquis. It is there where our volunteers receive their orientation and subcommittee assignments for the GNYDM, which begins the Friday after Thanksgiving. The 2023 dinner was no different. It was a great evening where scores of Second District Dental Society (SDDS) and New York County Dental Society members were able to get together for an enjoyable evening and set the tone for the annual GNYDM. It is a great tradition, one that serves as a focal point and personal connection with our GNYDM. Following the orientation, a cocktail hour and celebratory dinner were held to honor the volunteers. The attendees were all eligible for raffle prizes that were contributed by the two parent organizations and awarded that evening. The GNYDM’s achievements always translate to financial accomplishments for the SDDS; through the GNYDM, the SDDS has continued its long tradition of low-cost, high-quality continuing education and member services. The GNYDM’s current forecast has the Meeting increasing profits 23% in 2024. The GNYDM is always looking for innovative programs and events.
