Council on Dental Education and Licensure — Dr. Deborah Pasquale: • DLOSCE exam-has 3D images, no patient, multiple choice with multiple answers • New York state is willing to change the laws so specialists after the first year of their specialty program will be able to apply for their NY license • Six states are accepting it, but NY is not • Residency programs can send in form 4B one month before completion of program • Reviewed a bill for loan forgiveness to faculty in dental schools that lecture 12 credits per year. Proposed bill is for $40,000 per year unless you owe less than 60,000 for up to four years SDDS REPORTS: Greater New York Dental Meeting — James Doundoulakis: • Will keepThanksgiving weekend as we have done for 95 years • Live in-person meeting at Javits or Marriot as back up • Workshops and exhibits will be emphasized • Looking into partnering with restaurants and hotels for best room rates and meal specials for our attendees • Will have to determine if there will be “The Happening” or another social event Richmond County Dental Society — Dr. Sandra Scibetta: • Jan 22, 2022 is date of installation and it will be held at the Richmond County Country Club • Dr. Bryan Pieroni will be the new secretary and will be leaving the board of trustees. Will be looking for someone to fill the vacant board position Audit Committee —Dr. Mitchell Mindlin: • Received a clean audit • Component shares were confirmed but were redirected into the 2020 and 2021 meetings • Recommendations include a succession plan for the executive director. This is being addressed in the proposed LLC formation • The Marriott hotel agreement has expired but waiting to renegotiate after the pandemic • Audit of virtual meeting held in November will happen in the coming weeks UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Contribution to Sullivan Fund - Committee on Chemical Dependency —Dr. Buccigrossi: • Motion passed: to make a donation of $2,500 was referred to the Benevolent Fund Committee NEW BUSINESS: None GOOD &WELFARE: • If you didn’t get the $10,000 EIDL grant can apply for up to that amount as long as you meet the criteria. The second EIDL targeted loan is by email invitation only from the SBA. Members are reminded to check their spam folder. • Dr. Louis DeSantis will be published in the Journal of Prosthodontic s. This is the sixth subsidy sent Executive Director — Mr. Bernard Hackett: • PPE from DOH and FEMA are exhausted.
