OTA Dispatch Issue 4, 2023

36 Oregon Trucking Association, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch you put into something is often what you get out of it. Associations typically provide a range of resources that can greatly benefit members if—a big qualifier here—the carrier actually engages with those support systems. Here at OTA, we are acutely aware of our role in helping to support member carriers in reaching their safety objectives. The following are just some of the resources that OTA provides: ` Safety oriented events like the Spring Safety Conference and Maintenance & Education Fair where members can receive education and connect with other experienced safety professionals. `Annual truck driving championships where drivers can hone the knowledge and skills that are needed to consistently perform safely every day on the road. ` Regular training classes and webinars that promote trucking safety compliance and best practices across the industry. `Annual NW Fleet Safety and Maintenance Certification programs that assist safety and maintenance managers/directors in their long-term professional development. ` Safety Management and Technology Maintenance Councils that help members keep up with current events in trucking. These resources are readily available to all members and to some degree non-members as well. However, it is sometimes not until a particular carrier gets into compliance trouble that they really begin utilizing these resources or seeking out assistance from OTA. We are happy to help carriers at all stages of their safety development, but our priority message when it comes to safety will always be to focus on prevention. Do not delay. If OTA can assist you in building a better safety program in any way, please reach out to us! Safety, cont.
