Everyone is willing to sit down and talk with you over the phone or in person,” said George. David’s involvement with OTA began with attending the annual OTA Safety Conference, where he immediately saw the value and benefit of membership and how the organization is able to influence decisionmakers when issues come up that impact the industry. He also echoed George’s sentiments about the relational aspect of membership. “Both me and George have met great resources through OTA who we can pick up the phone at any time and run ideas or scenarios by,” said David. “The networking is almost like a family atmosphere. When we come to the OTA, we’re there with a common goal and we can share our ideas and our concerns and there’s usually someone at that table who has those same concerns and ideas about how we can make our industry better. It’s great to have that camaraderie and wealth of information to see you’re not the only one out there dealing with this type of situation.” TP Trucking continues to be a leader in the industry thanks to the leadership of their team members like David and George. But for all their success in helping build and run the transportation division for Timber Products, they like to keep things fun and wanted to clear up any confusion that, while they are grateful for the calls they received during the pandemic thanking them for hauling toilet paper, TP Trucking does not, in fact, stand for toilet paper!
