Additionally, competition to recruit and retain caregivers and health care workers impacts facilities’ ability to maintain access and affordability, especially in rural communities. Addressing these challenges has never been more important for our state as demand for long term care services in Oregon is rising sharply as our population ages. It is critical that the state renew and enhance its commitment to long term care services and supports, including workforce supports and professional development and growth.
