The Oregon Caregiver FALL/WINTER 2021 www.ohca.com 30 2021 CONVENTION RECAP Annual Convention & Trade Show 2021 On November 10, we were honored and excited to be able to host our Annual Convention, Oregon’s largest long term care event, in person at the Oregon Convention Center. This is the first time we had held a large in-person event in nearly two years, and we appreciate all participants’ dedication to safety and adherence to our COVID-19 vaccine requirement and mask requirement. It truly was magical seeing our members again and being able to offer an opportunity for them to safely connect with other providers after so long. The one-day event (condensed from our usual two-day affair for safety purposes) opened with a video of providers talking about their experiences during the pandemic. The keynote address came from Christopher Ridenhour, who spoke about crisis management, leadership, and perseverance. Our OHCA Awards ceremony was integrated into the keynote presentation and was followed by breakout education sessions on a wide variety of current topics for long term care provider clinicians and staff. The event also included a robust trade show where attendees were able to learn about products and services to assist in providing high quality care to residents and keeping buildings running efficiently.
