NEWS & NOTES Bank of Eastern Oregon Opens New Branch in Pendleton Bank of Eastern Oregon (BEO) has opened a new full-service branch in Pendleton, located at 800 SW Dorion Avenue. The new BEO branch is located in the former Oregon Education Foundation building. BEO, a rural community bank headquartered in Heppner, has 22 branches located in eastern Oregon, eastern Washington and Canyon County, Idaho. “It was time for us to open a branch in Pendleton,” said President and CEO Jeff Bailey. “Our customers have been asking for this and when a building became available, we made the purchase. We are pleased we can now offer our local customers personal and business banking services on site, as well as the agricultural and commercial loan services we’ve already offered in Pendleton.” The staff of the former BEO loan office in Pendleton, Mike Short, Tracy Hamby and Jessica Mulvihill, have moved into the new full-service branch. Bethany Olsen, a Pendleton native, has moved back to town with her family and is the branch manager. Boyd Elkins Named Evergreen Federal President and CEO Evergreen Federal Bank has announced the appointment of Boyd Elkins as the new president and CEO, succeeding Jeff Hyde who has been with the bank for 47 years, 14 of which as president and CEO. Elkins continues to serve as the bank’s chief financial officer. “I look forward to continuing Evergreen’s mutual mission,” said Elkins. “I remain committed to serving customers locally, engaging with our community, and making a positive difference where our customers live.” First Federal Celebrates Grand Opening of McDaniel Branch In January, First Federal held a grand opening celebration for its new McDaniel Branch located 1650 NE Hwy 99W in McMinnville. As part of the festivities, First Federal presented a $200 donation to MV Advancements. The donation stemmed from a branch naming contest held over the summer, with MV Advancements selected by the contest winner as the recipient. First Federal Named Business of the Year by McMinnville Chamber During the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner in November, First Federal was named Business of the Year.
