We will highlight management of venous lakes and fibromas. In the days of increased technology including digital impressions, the dentist will understand how to take better impressions. Dentists will be able to see how we use a laser to depigment gingival tissues and removal of Crowns and Veneers without using a dental drill. We will highlight the importance of getting the golden proportions and creating the smiles that your patient needs, deserve and desire through gingivectomies and closed flap crown lengthenings. Lastly, we will discuss how to integrate a laser into your daily practice and get your team on board. OBJECTIVES: • Understanding and managing soft tissue issues • Enhancing cosmetic outcomes using both hard and soft tissue laser settings • Adoption of different lasers into your daily routine Bradley Labrecque Dr. Brad Labrecque is a general dentist whose focus is incorporating Laser Technology in the modern dental practice. He is passionate about training dental practitioners in the use of Dental Lasers in all clinical procedures. Dr. Labrecque implemented lasers early in his clinical practice being one of the first dentists in Canada. He has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education and his practical experience makes him a global authority on Laser Dentistry and is sought after by dental practitioners worldwide to train them in successful implementation of this technology to improve their clinical outcomes from the traditional dental protocols. Since 1995 Dr. Labrecque has lectured globally on this technology in many conferences including Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Slovenia, and Germany. This is due to his extensive knowledge in all wavelengths of dental lasers. Dr. Labrecque maintained a general group practice at Cedar Dental Centre in Kamloops BC Canada since 1984–2019 where it is focused on minimally invasive dentistry. We start with a critical look at radiation safety, emphasizing practical strategies to protect patients and staff. From there, we tear apart our X-ray equipment, focusing on the physics behind the tubehead, to demystify how it produces high-quality images while minimizing exposure. The final part explores the cutting-edge technologies reshaping the field: Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These tools not only promise to enhance diagnostic capabilities but also to streamline workflows, all within the framework of radiation safety. This presentation is designed for dental professionals who are eager to merge traditional practices with modern innovations, ensuring their practice is both safe and at the forefront of technological advancement. OBJECTIVES: • Review radiation physics • Review the characteristics of radiation • Review radiation protection for patients and operators Andrew Margarit, RDH, ME Andrew Margarit, RDH, began his dental career way back when in high school when he worked summers at his dad’s dental clinic as the assistant’s assistant. He went on to study industrial engineering and computer science and then migrated back to the dental field with a focus in dental hygiene. He went on to graduate from the DACC-NMSU Dental Hygiene Program in May of 2015. From there he went on to work in private practice helping at his original clinic as well as others around town. Later in 2016 he was offered an opportunity to teach clinical Radiology at DACC-NMSU. Over the years he has taught clinical practicum as well as clinical radiology, anesthesiology, and dental materials. After getting his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene through UNM, he went on to teach didactic dental materials and radiology as well. Currently, he instructs all the aforementioned classes while pursuing a Masters in Education with a focus in learning technologies.
