Edwin A. del Valle-Sepúlveda, DDS Dr. Edwin A. del Valle-Sepúlveda, ADA Second Vice President, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Puerto Rico and serves as the attending staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Juan. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine in 1986 and completed a Postgraduate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certificate in the University of Puerto Rico Hospitals in 1989. He also has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. Dr. del Valle-Sepúlveda is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the American Dental Association, the Hispanic Dental Association, and the National Hispanic Medical Association. He has held several leadership roles within the dental community, including president (2020) and treasurer (2018) of the Hispanic Dental Association, chairman of the American College of Dentists Puerto Rico Section, member of the American Dental Association House of Delegates and past member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons House of Delegates. Dr. del Valle-Sepúlveda is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, as well as an honorary fellow of the American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. Dr. del Valle-Sepúlveda is a full time staff dentist in the VA Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico and has a part-time private practice with offices in Caguas, and Ponce, Puerto Rico. He and his wife, Lillian have two sons. He enjoys running, swimming, triathlons, coin collecting, history and reading. CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers Dentists Administrators Dental Hygienists Dental Assistants 1–4pm, Thursday 6/6 LOCATION: PARLOR A TYPE: TICKETED EVENT/WORKSHOP CEU: 3 DESCRIPTION: CPR: This course will be taught online on-demand—in-person practical instruction will be by appointment during the meeting. The BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. In the instruction-led course, students participate in simulated scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing.  Written section completed online with mannequin testing on site by appointment only. Joe Griego, EMT Joe Griego was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and is a native of the north valley. Joe is a proud father of two and donates his time as a Little League and Special Olympics coach. Joe is a service-connected US Navy Veteran with over 10 years of public service under his belt as a previous Albuquerque area Firefighter/EMT and local Police Officer. Joe has experience in running EMS calls in the rural and metro areas and has advanced training in trauma, extrication, and critical incident management. Joe’s experience in emergency medicine ranges in advanced trauma, tactical combat casualty care, cardiac care, and patient transport. His training as a police officer has afforded him experience in drug interdiction, domestic violence prevention, and advanced roadside impairment. Joe now works as a Set Medic in New Mexico’s booming film industry alongside the best emergency medicine technicians in the game, offering care to the cast and crew of tv shows and movies.
