We know that healthy gums don’t bleed. Therefore, having a team approach to inflammation reduction is essential. Often, improper coding prevents the patient from having the coverage they deserve, and most private practices lack the protocols and systems to effectively treat periodontal disease. This course is designed to empower the entire team, both clinicians and business team members. OBJECTIVES: • Identify 7 steps to promote patient compliance with treatment recommendations while increasing productivity • Access the 2017 AAP Periodontal Classifications and review case studies • Discuss DNA testing, chairside microscope education, and laser implementation • Review new and innovative ways to improve the chairside experience for both the patient and the clinician including voice recognition technologies, instruments, and new home care items that will optimize patient compliance Amber Auger, MPH, RDH Amber Auger, MPH, RDH, is a practicing dental hygienist with a mission to elevate the standard of care to determine the root cause of oral diseases.
