12 55th NCSM Annual Conference GENERAL INFORMATION NCSM Event Code of Conduct NCSM: Leadership in Mathematics Education is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and NCSM staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, speakers, volunteers, staff members, exhibitors, sponsors, or other meeting guests are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all NCSM events. This Code of Conduct outlines NCSM’s expectations for participant behavior, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior. NCSM promotes continual learning in an inclusive environment. All participants are expected to treat others with respect and consideration, follow venue rules, and to alert staff to any violations of this Code of Conduct, dangerous situations, or any participant in distress. By participating in NCSM events, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate attendance for anyone who violates these guidelines. • All communication at NCSM events should be appropriate for a professional audience, including people of many different backgrounds regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion. • NCSM health and safety policies must be followed to obtain safe entry to NCSM events. • All participants are expected to maintain a professional and civil discourse throughout the event space. • Verbal harassment or other abuse of any participant, speaker, volunteer, staff member, exhibitor, sponsor, service provider, or other meeting guest is unacceptable. • Unwarranted disruption of sessions, events, or any activity that takes place is prohibited. • NCSM reserves the right to remove any promotional communications that have not been preapproved by NCSM. Event Health and Safety Policy NCSM values our members and conference attendees and your health and safety is our top priority when we plan for our conference and other professional learning events. NCSM follows the guidance and expectations of the local health department and will update our expectations to align with theirs if conditions arise. We do not plan to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test as a condition of attendance for the NCSM Annual Conference. If you have COVID symptoms or test positive for COVID, please contact the NCSM Office to discuss refund options. As host, NCSM strongly encourages all participants at NCSM events whether a presenter, attendee, exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor to be fully vaccinated. NCSM strongly encourages individuals to be tested for COVID prior to traveling to the conference. Individuals who test positive should stay home and cancel your registration. Dress Code Appropriate dress for the NCSM Annual Conference is business casual, including October 31.
