What advice would you give (or have you given) to a dental student? Be humble. This is how you become great — by being able to self-criticize and improve. The best doctors I know are humble and are constantly learning. Do you have ideas or goals for how you plan to represent the Northern District Dental Society as President in 2025? My main goal will be to improve communication with dentists in the Northern District. Before I got involved with the GDA, I did not know the extent of member benefits or the huge impact that laws can have on how we practice every day. I think if dentists knew this, they would be more involved. I am planning on improving communication by meeting members where they are — on social media and in their offices. What do you enjoy doing to decompress? When I am not practicing dentistry, you can normally find me walking the Beltline with my dog, or practicing yoga. I also love live music. My husband is a musician so I am fortunate I get to go to shows often. I actually run a hygiene study club called “Gums and Roses.” If you were on a plane right now, where would you be headed? I could probably drive there, but I would love to go to Dollywood. I am a huge Dolly Parton fan. I admire her kindness and wit. The Fall is an amazing time to go to the Smoky Mountains. Without saying “I am a dentist,” what would you say if someone asked you what you do for a living? Gum gardener, baby! | 41 Nov 2024
