Southeast Michigan Contractors Issue 2 2023 7 HEADER ABC BOARD Welcome ABC Board Members Adam Harding & Brian Misaras Adam Harding Operations & Rental Manager | AIS Construction Equipment Corp. Adam worked his way into the construction industry as a young professional. He had experience with construction equipment and was confident in his skills to provide the right equipment to local contractors. Adam quickly found his way to AIS Construction Equipment Corp. where he has spent the last 17 years growing his network and local connections to expand his book of business. Working in the construction industry, Adam’s appreciation for a strong work-ethic has grown exponentially after meeting the hard-working men and women that contribute to the industry; it pushes him to work harder to provide the best service to these companies. Even with an uncertain economy, Adam and the workers at AIS are finding new ways to stay available to contractors and provide the highest level of customer service. When he’s not leading the team at AIS, Adam enjoys boating and playing golf as much as the Michigan weather will allow. He also was a former bass player for a band. We look forward to his leadership on the ABC Southeastern Michigan Board of Directors. For rental equipment, please contact Adam at [email protected] “AIS and the industry as a whole has a family centered feel. We look out for each other and know that we have an abundance of contacts to reach out to about anything. I’m right where I need to and want to be.” Brian Misaras Director of Operations | Merlo Construction Brian got his start in construction at 17 when he interned at a family friend’s concrete business. After high school he enrolled in Michigan State University while also working full-time at the concrete business as an estimator and project manager. Brian’s passion for the industry was enough to decide college was not his path and he left to give more attention to his job in construction. He joined the Merlo Construction team in January of 2017 as the director of operations. He likes working with a diverse set of people—from a laborer to a developer. There’s many different backgrounds in the construction industry and his role at Merlo allows him to interact with them. A goal of Brian’s this year is to instill a sense of pride again for working and choosing the construction industry as a career path. He hopes to reverse the decline in talent in the field. When Brian isn’t directing operations at Merlo, he coaches his kids’ hockey, baseball, and soccer teams. He also enjoys playing hockey once a week with friends. We look forward to his leadership on the ABC Southeastern Michigan Board of Directors. Contact Brian for any local contracting needs at [email protected]. “In my 20+ years in the field, I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting such hard-working people. College is not the path for everyone and I know I did the right thing when I decided to commit to the concrete company fully when I was younger. It set me on a great path today.”
