ABC-SEMI Southeast Michigan Contractors Issue 2, 2023

Keith Ledbetter | ABC SEMI PRESIDENT/CEO President’s Letter In many cases, quality measures seem not so surprisingly aligned with one thing—union affiliation. We often see these ordinances require the adoption of the union MUST safety program. We’ve also witnessed local rules that require federally-approved apprenticeship training, which in many cases is only commonly available to union companies. ABC of Michigan successfully passed the Fair and Open Competition Act (PA 98 of 2011) a decade ago to invalidate many of these requirements. In cases where your company may face certain disadvantages from these ordinances, you should contact us. We may be able to leverage our attorneys to invalidate the rules. In other cases, the Southeast Michigan Construction Academy may be able to structure a specially-designed Department of Labor apprenticeship program for your company. See how ABC can help. Sincerely, Keith Ledbetter | President and CEO ABC Southeastern Michigan Chapter 2 Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
