Southeast Michigan Contractors Issue 2 2023 15 CPR TRAINING Safety Training in Action First Aid/CPR classes are a big priority for companies in 2023 What are the benefits of providing life-saving training? The clear reason for this training is to help someone in need and act as a first responder until help arrives. Every year, millions of people are hurt or killed from injuries due to inadequate response or lack of timely assistance. The biggest difference between victims who survive and those who don’t is the bystander’s willingness to help. ABC members are working to be helpful bystanders by getting certified in First Aid/CPR/AED training. Drew Maltese sets up the CPR mannequin during training. Construction employee, Johnathon, mentors a fellow co-worker during CPR training. CPR student from Independence Commercial Construction during a First Aid/ CPR/AED class at ABC. I don’t take these trainings lightly and I know neither do our members, so knowing that we’re moving the needle on construction safety should be a great source of pride for the entire chapter.” » Drew Maltese, ABC SEMI director of safety
