Summer 2018

www.wvfa.org Summer 2018 |  West Virginia Forestry Association Mountain State Forestry 5 I t is again my pleasure to welcome you to yet another edition of the WVFA Mountain State Forestry (MSF) magazine. This publication is fast becoming an integral part of our Association and, according to responses from a recent Board of Directors meeting, a valued part as well. As the West Virginia Forestry Association endeavors to help find ways to certify hardwoods for use in Cross Laminated Timbers, remedy the problem with loggers’ workers compensation premiums and address the mass of legislation that we work on throughout the year—check this issue for legislative results for this year’s session—we come to rely on this method of communication to relay more detailed information than our more frequent weekly electronic newsletter and monthly one-pager can accommodate. In order to continue uninterrupted delivery of MSF, I would sincerely request that each reader consider thanking and patronizing the advertisers in here. In addition, I will direct your attention to the opportunity below to view how you too can help bring coming editions of Mountain State Forestry to our thousands of recipients. Otherwise, I invite you to enjoy another great issue of the magazine and take special heed of of the forms included for you to determine your participation in a number of upcoming opportunities; including July’s Annual WVFA Conference at Canaan Valley, events at the Conference, and the free Ted Harriman Forestry Camp to name just a few. We hope you enjoy this magazine.  Mark N.
