I N D U S T R Y N E W S 12 West Virginia Forestry Association Mountain State Forestry  | Summer 2018 www.wvfa.org Free Forestry Camp THIS YEAR MARKS THE 63 rd year for the free West Virginia Ted Harriman Forest Industries Camp. The camp is scheduled for July 22–28, at Camp Mahonegan, Ellamore, West Virginia. This camp provides the opportunity for young people (age limit: as of July 23, 2016, over 15 and less than 20 years of age) to understand the value of multiple-use management of West Virginia’s forests and also become aware of career opportunities in forestry. A partnership between WVFA members and several state agencies provide the instruction and supervision for the camp. Alan Miller, a member of WVFA, will continue to serve as director of the camp. The Forest Industries Camp scholarship cost this year is $100. WVFA invites you to provide one or more scholarships for the 63rd Camp. Your scholarship check can translate into a better understanding for forest resource management and use.
