Ellis Coffee’s coffee contribution to the USO exceeds 4,000 pounds annually providing military travelers with a great cup of coffee while in transit. That’s over 260,000 cups of coffee a year! Ellis has donated to the USO for over 40 years. The value of this in-kind contribution has exceeded $250,000. It’s Ellis Coffee’s way to thank all of those at the USO for their incredible work! Seven PA restaurants were named to OpenTable.com’s top 100 restaurants in the United States. Congratulations to Philadelphia restaurants (and PRLA-members) Ambra, Double Knot, and Vernick Coffee Bar for representing the Keystone state! Southern Chapter Congratulations! James Morrison, Getaways On Display, was recently re-elected President of the Visitor International, the International Association of Visitor Information Providers. James has been a member for more than 20 years and, in addition to having served previously as president, has served on its board of directors. Visitors International represents worldwide companies which distribute tourism brochures “which guide millions of visitors to great experiences.” In addition, the association is a resource for tourism research and statistics. Getaways on Display distributes 9 to 10 million brochures in the Mid-Atlantic region each year! James currently serves as the PRLA Southern Chapter president. The Explore York team once again participated in the annual United Way Fundraiser and exceeded expectations by raising $4,538, which is $1,200 more than the previous year. All staff members participated in the giving event. And, during Give Local York, the Explore York team visited organizations throughout the area and showed them their support and appreciation with gift baskets and social media exposure. Congratulations to Wyndridge Farm on celebrating your 5-year anniversary and expanding your brand to include Wyndridge Cider Company and Winding Path Brewing Company! Western Chapter The Laurel Highlands was selected as one of the top five emerging travel destinations in the world by travel site, TravelLemmings.com, readers. Rounding out the top five were Lausanne, Switzerland; Prince Edward Island, Canada; McLaren Vale, South Australia; and Nova Scotia, Canada.
