Fall 2019 • PENNSYLVANIA RESTAURANT & LODGING matters •  27 Lancaster Chapter Happy Anniversary! Good n’ Plenty has been serving up its homestyle Pennsylvania Dutch meals for 50 years! In 1969, Christ and Dolly Lapp bought a farmhouse to realize their dream of owning a restaurant. To mark its milestone, the restaurant hosted more than 100 current and former employees for a light lunch. Additionally, each month they have had a quilt giveaway and a raffle for dinner for two. Several Pennsylvania amusement parks received Golden Tickets this September. Golden Tickets are presented by industry publication Amusement Today and honor “the best of the best” in the amusement industry. Dutch Wonderland was named the Best Family Park of 2019, while Knoebels (Elysburg, Pa.) took top honors for “Best Wooden Coaster” (for the Phoenix) and “Best Food of 2019.” Kennywood’s new Steel Curtain was name the “Best New Coaster” for the year. Philadelphia Chapter Yum! Ellis Coffee kicked off a Fall Flavor Festival featuring all- time favorite Pumpkin Spice through October. The Fall Flavor Festival continues through the end of the year with Ellis’ new Sugar Cookie flavored coffee-perfect for the holidays.
