Spring 2018 • PENNSYLVANIA RESTAURANT & LODGING matters • 27 MEMBER MILESTONES Lehigh Valley Chapter The Lehigh Valley Chapter held is 2018 Installation Gala at Hampton Winds on the campus of Northampton Community College . The culinary students did an outstanding job of creating a menu for the sit-down dinner as well as preparing and serving. Attendees were delighted to meet the culinary team and give them a standing ovation for their great job! Congrats! Juan and Melanie Martinez have opened their fourth Don Juan Mex Grill in Fogelsville! Juan is the president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter. The Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group-Red Robins have kicked off a year-long campaign to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The purchase of two of the restaurant’s most popular burgers will result in 25 cents per burger donated to the cause. While this is the first year for this campaign, the restaurant group has partnered with LLS since 2010 and has raised more than $668,745. Their partnership with MDA began in 2012 and to date they have donated $204,665 which provided funds to send 215 children to special MDA Summer Camp. Northeastern Chapter Congratulations to Northeastern Chapter President Damon Kimble on his recent promotion! Damon is now Regional Vice President of Operation for Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group—Red Robin. Northwestern Chapter Kudos to 11 Northwestern Chapter members for being recognized in the Erie Reader’s Best of 2017 awards! Check out the winners on the PRLA Facebook page. Congratulations! The Crawford County Convention and Visitors Bureau was named Grand Marketer of the Year by the American Marketing Association’s Pittsburgh chapter. The award recognizes results-based marketing campaigns in Western Pennsylvania from both brands and advertising agencies for their excellence and success. The bureau also won for the sports, entertainment, or travel marketing category. ➔
