PJW Restaurant Group’s Bill Love was honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as Chief Financial Officer of the Year. The award honors executives who exemplify professionalism, integrity, resilience, and mastery of financial and people skills. Bucks-Mont Chapter Chef John Di Pinto was named the new director of the Culinary Arts Institute at Montgomery County Community College. Prior to his new role, Chef Di Pinto served as the business manager of the institute. Central Chapter Congratulations to Chef Brian Peffley on being awarded the President’s Medallion at the American Culinary Foundation’s National Convention and Show held in New Orleans. Chef Peffley is an instructor at Lebanon County Career & Tech Center. Way to go! Brian Dailey, Devon Seafood Grill, received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Managerial Focus, from Elizabethtown College this summer. Brian finished the four-year program in three years and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Congrats! T.J. Arrowood was recently promoted to regional operations director for the Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group . T.J. serves as vice president for the Central Chapter. High Hotels announced it will install a $1.5 million solar array that will generate 100 percent of the electrical power required to operate the Courtyard by Marriott-Lancaster. It will be the first Marriott-branded hotel in the U.S. with all of its electricity needs generated by solar power. The array, which will fill an area equivalent to more than two football fields will be installed on a roof of a nearby building in the Greenfield Corporate Center where the hotel is located. Happy Anniversary to Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar which celebrated 10 years of providing “the ultimate sports dining experience” in July. Since opening its first restaurant in Harrisburg, the brand has expanded to its current 19 locations in seven states. Shireen Farr this summer was named interim CEO for the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) and its subsidiaries, including the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau. She has served as COO for CAEDC and director of tourism for the visitors bureau. Berks-Schuylkill Chapter The spirit of giving! Pennsylvania’s Americana Region will be part of the eighth annual Cups of Compassion being held December 20. The DMO has been involved in the event since 2010 when they reached out to their partners to provide their time, hot food, baked goods, clothing, toys, toiletries, and other resources in an effort to improve the lives of those less fortunate in the community.
