PLSO The Oregon Surveyor Sept/Oct 2020

Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon |  www.plso.org 7 7. The pandemic restrictions have shaken us all out our normal way of doing business. Everyone has had to adapt. Restaurants and drinking establishments now have take-out, creative deals, and many found a way to create outdoor seating. Companies figured out how to maintain operations with employees working remotely. Agencies have updated their policies to allow for digital project submissions. While many PLSO and surveying-related meetings utilized conference calls, this is more wide-spread and accepted now. I attended a virtual OAME meeting with more than 50 other attendees. No more wasting time and money driving to meetings, they all happen from wherever you happen to be. PLSO and other organizations are also adapting their conferences to virtual platforms, which has the added benefit of being able to reach associates who don’t normally get to attend and those who live far from the conference site or can’t take the time off. Again, saving more time and money!  x
